Experience the Authentic Taste Of Yemeni Coffee
WHERE BOLD ORIGINS MEET MODERN COFFEE CULTURE
Why MKS Coffee ?
Mocha Coffee Specialty, also known as MKS Coffee, was born out of a deep love for the heritage of Yemeni coffee. Our journey began with a simple mission to reconnect the world with the authentic taste of Yemeni beans grown high in the rugged mountains of Haraz, Haimi, and Ismaeli.
As descendants of coffee farmers and traders, we understand the value of tradition. That’s why we work directly with local Yemeni farmers who use time honored methods to grow 100% Arabica beans without chemical intervention, just sun, soil, and skill.
We’re not just a coffee supplier. We’re a bridge between past and present, delivering ethically sourced, specialty grade coffee that respects both the land and the people who farm it. From the terraces of Haraz to your doorstep, MKS Coffee stands for quality, culture, and connection.
Working with Farmers
We work hand in hand with independent farmers in the mountains of Yemen, people whose families have grown coffee for centuries, without chemicals, without shortcuts. These aren’t just suppliers; they are a fundamental part of history. Families who have worked hard to hold onto their land through conflict, hardship, and hope. Our mission isn’t just to sell coffee. It’s to restore Yemen’s place on the world stage, not as a forgotten origin, but as the birthplace of coffee culture itself.
We’re investing in supporting organic practices, paying fair prices, and telling stories the world forgot. This isn’t charity. It’s a reclamation.
Yemeni coffee was once the best on Earth. We’re here to make sure it is again.
The Hands Behind the Cup
High in the cloudy terraced mountains of Haraz, where the morning breeze grips to stone and the call to prayer drifts on the wind, lives a farmer named Saleh. His hands are tough from the soil, sun, and memory. Every morning, he walks among coffee trees his ancestors once planted with care, their roots holding to cliffs as old as time.
Saleh is not part of a company. No suits, no middlemen. Just him, his family, and a few neighbors who exchange tools more often than words. At the right time, they carefully select by hand each cherry, drying them on rooftops that double as sunbaked stages where children’s laughter and birdsong are heard.
In Yemen, coffee is more than just a beverage, it’s a tradition passed down in silence and sweat. It’s the whisper of rain on stone, the scent of cardamom in the air. The rest of the world may drink their work in cafes oceans away, but here, every cup begins with a farmer standing alone on the edge of the mountain, trusting in his hands.
No machines. No shortcuts. Just generations of patience.
Coffee Heritage
There was a time when the world knew one name for coffee: Mocha, named not after a flavor you find in cafes across the world, but a Yemeni port where ships once loaded sacks of mountain-grown beans bound for empires. Great leaders, poets, and scholars across the globe have all enjoyed Yemeni coffee, grown in ancient terraces with roots that stretch deeper than the pages of history books. But over time, the world moved on. Trade routes shifted. Machines replaced farmers. Cheaper, faster coffee took its place. The craft was buried beneath the noise of mass production. Yemen’s voice in the coffee world grew quiet. Now, at MKS Coffee, we’re here to bring back Yemen’s lost voice, not with nostalgia but with a purpose.
The Silent Backbone of the Coffee Industry
At MKS Coffee, we’re supporting the silent backbone of Yemen’s coffee industry which is women.
Despite facing deep-rooted setbacks such as land inequality, cultural restrictions, and lack of access to education or healthcare, the strong women of Yemen have continued to plant, pick, and dry the beans behind the scenes. Now, with MKS support, they are stepping into leadership roles forming collectives, gaining fair pay, and having their voices heard beyond the mountains.
This isn’t just about coffee.
It’s about resilience, dignity, and revival.
